Job Description and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Learning and Development, the incumbent of this position will be responsible for the design, development, delivery and evaluation of learning and development programs as well as developing and following up on individual employee development and career plans.

  • Plan, coordinate and produce annual employee survey summaries and present results to business unit leaders as well as producing communications for the survey;
  • Manage curriculums and online content in our learning management system;
  • Develop and/or adapt training program content for an organizational fit;
  • Develop and follow-up on training/development/career plans;
  • Propose/develop interventions that improve competencies and employee performance to managers upon request;
  • Design and/or review (the English version) and/or adapt learning tools such as learner guides, facilitator guides, job aids, and executive summaries of management best practices;
  • Analyzing needs, diagnosing learning and performance issues, recommending and/or implementing appropriate solutions;
  • Adapt existing and new training programs for various media (web, self-paced learning etc);
  • Determine the annual workshop calendar based on identified needs;
  • Support and coach internal trainers in designing and delivering training activities;
  • Manage training and change management projects (ie: timeline, internal and external resources, budget);
  • Negotiate agreements with external training suppliers;
  • Deliver and/or ensure the delivery of classroom and web conference training activities;
  • Evaluate learning interventions including training transfer;

Support their manager in their special projects.

Experience Requirements

  • A University Degree in human resources, adult education, or related discipline;
  • Post-Graduate diploma or Masters in a learning discipline, an asset;
  • Being certified CHRP or CTDP or CPT or CEC would be an asset;
  • 5 years experience in a similar position in a large organization;
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written French and especially oral and written English;
  • Mastery of office applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Acrobat Writer and Visio;
  • Experience developing content with educational technology tools (Captivate, WebEx etc);
  • Initiative, entrepreneurship and ability to adapt to change;
  • Track record of working effectively in a team, networking, partnering and influencing stakeholders and maintaining harmonious work relationships at all hierarchical levels;
  • Excellent ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects simultaneously, work under pressure;
  • Good business acumen and ability to identify performance indicators;
  • Good common sense, analytical mind, ability to synthesize and put theory into practice;
  • Experience working with a Learning Management System (LMS);
  • Outstanding meeting facilitation and feedback giving skills;
  • Recognized for their positive attitude, tact, diplomacy and discretion;
  • International/multicultural experience would be an asset.
